8"X10" Oil On Panel.
This was painted outside the Feed Restaurant. I walked the neighborhood for awhile to picked the perfect spot but kept wanting to come back here. The block was sleepy at 9am on Saturday morning, but this restaurant jumped out at me. I saw a variety of people going in. Little babies with their parents to the very old.
The restaurant evoked warmth and the menu on the outside screamed good comfort food. I wanted to capture the grit of the city, but use warm colors for the restaurant. I created a sense of mystery for the restauant with smokey "peach black" because the color "peach black" seem appropriate for Southern cusine.
